Seamless Automation for Generative Design
Intact.Generative is a powerful plug and play toolkit for the rapid construction and deployment of embedded and fully automated generative solutions for design space exploration. For the first time, you can create your own generative design solutions that work seamlessly with your organization’s digital workflows. Start with any CAD geometric representation, select physics, performance criteria, and target output representation. Choose or combine parametric, shape, material, or topology optimization.
Design space exploration without preprocessing
Apply a set of load cases on native CAD models (geometry and material). Intact.Generative explores the design space and suggests several design options with varying mass, stiffness, natural frequencies, and other mechanical properties.
No manual cleanup or post-processing
This video shows the evolution of the optimum design, starting from an assembly of multiple parts. Notice how the boundary is always preserved as the part evolves, without the need to clean up or post process the optimization results. Furthermore, the final design is already fully validated in Intact.Simulation.
The raw optimized designs can be easily exported as CAD bodies (NURBS based STEP/IGES formats) for downstream applications:
Embed in Fully Automated Workflows
The key advantage of Intact.Generative is that it can be embedded in any automated workflow, saving considerable development time and engineering hours in generative design applications. This is a real-world example of an automated workflow for topology optimization (implemented here in Rhino/Grasshopper):
Simulation-driven multi-level lattice design
Intact.Generative is capable of producing lattice infills that follow any given simulation field, such as strain energy density, von Mises stress, etc. In this example, the middle picture shows the sectional view of the strain energy field in the CAD part on the left-hand side. Intact.Generative yields a lattice infill of any base shape (gyroid, octet., truss, etc.), that follows the field with lattice width (or density) higher in regions where the strain energy is high, and lower in regions where strain energy is low:
Intact.Generative can also generate hierarchical, multi-level lattices by recursively repeating these steps. This generative design has two levels of lattice infills:
