Intact Solutions announces that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has funded a cooperative agreement with Intact Solutions to investigate meso-scale thermal simulation and path planning for powder bed fusion additive manufacturing processes.
The research focuses on developing an efficient and accurate thermal simulation of metal additive manufacturing processes at the scan-path level. The thermal history of the process holds the key to being able to predict and assure high quality geometric and mechanical properties of additively manufactured parts. The research will allow rapid validation, planning, and control of manufacturing process plans in metal additive manufacturing.
