Assemblies

When analyzing an assembly, there are two options for analyzing the model.

  1. Single material analysis: All material in the assembly is the same
  2. Multiple material analysis: Each part of the assembly gets a specified material

Note: A full list of materials and their properties can be found in this spreadsheet.

Single Material Analysis

  1. In the simulation setup window, select the Materials tab
  2. Scroll down to the All Components drop down menu
  3. Choose one material for entire assembly. Selecting a material in the All Components menu will apply the same material to every component.
  4. Continue with simulation process described in Simulation Setup

Multiple Material Analysis

  1. Choose [Set Multiple Materials] (red box)
  2. Hover over the part to see it highlighted in the assembly (orange box)
  3. Click the material dropdown menu (blue box)
  4. Select appropriate material
  5. Repeat for the remaining parts in the assembly
  6. Click back (purple box)
  7. Continue with simulation process described in Simulation Setup
