Basic Operation

  1. Run Grasshopper by typing Grasshopper at the Rhino command line
  2. Navigate to the Intact.Simulation Toolbar in Grasshopper
  3. Select a Solver for the the physics of interest (stress, thermal, modal)
  4. Add components and assign material
  5. Apply boundary conditions (restraints and loads)
  6. Click Solve to compute simulation results
  7. View results by connecting the results viewer

Stress Simulation quick start

  1. Insert solver settings block to set resolution or grid size
  2. Insert simulation component block
    1. Specify geometry
    2. Insert and connect material block
    3. Connect components to stress solver
    1. Specify surfaces to restrain
    2. Connect restraints to stress solver
  3. Insert surface load block of choice (vector load shown)
    1. Specify surfaces to load
    2. Specify load particulars (such as magnitude or direction)
    3. Connect loads to stress solver
  4. Click [Solve] on stress solver component (if Boolean is toggled “True” it will solve automatically)
    1. Connect output of stress solver
    2. Right click to select solution quantity of interest
